William Benton Carlen is an artist from Cookeville, Tennessee. His introduction to art and his inspiration was his grandmother, an artist who owned a gallery in Atlanta. His first experience was "painting" at an early age in her studio. In graduate school, he developed his love for oil painting, continuing to learn, experiment, and grow.
