Tanner West

Tanner West is a self-taught artist from Cookeville, Tennessee. Tanner developed a love of creating early in life; at age 5, he began teaching himself to draw with the ultimate goal of becoming a master toymaker. Through sketching out his various toy ideas, he instead discovered a passion for making the artwork itself. In 2015 he began creating politically themed artwork under the pseudonym "Paler East". Nostalgia, bright colors, and dark humor are common elements in his work, often being used in contrast with topics of anxiety, isolation, and political dissent. When he's not working on one of his many projects, he enjoys baking and spending time with his partner, Hannah, and their son, Archie.
