WoodsEdge Works began over 30 years ago when I bought an old church built in 1901 for my home/studio and cottage industry. The original endeavors were pottery/shiitake mushroom growing/herbal products and soaps. I planted a bamboo patch and became intrigued with the natural material and with trial and error over the years, I discovered the possibilities of crafting bamboo items from its raw to finished state. Being an avid hiker and backpacker is what pulled me into the idea of experimenting and crafting walking sticks. I developed a technique for hand-painted designs, cording and sealing the culms thus, creating a bamboo walking stick product.
